The 3rd instalment of the The Good Soldier Schweik shows Schweik's duty with Lieutenant Lukas, who lived more or less contentedly and amused himself until his new orderly's arrival. However, the soldier's presence in the officer's flat puts an end to the idyll, because a fuming colonel sends the two to the trained replacement company in Ceske Budejovice after Schweik indirectly has made Lukas into a dog stealer.
