Work is not only the basis of everything that is happening but it is also the source of happiness and satisfaction. But this is what little Frankie does not like. He would be happy if people did not have to do anything and that all work was done by dwarves. Alice would like to have everything free. In the end both kids find out that nothing would function without work. This is the way the world is organised. The film is based on texts and pictures by Josef Capek that show how to educate children through games so that they learn to love work.
